Remember the dinner party I had with the ER docs a few weeks ago? Just found these pics of the fantastic appetizers I made for that party. Sliced english cucumbers for the base. Cream cheese mixed with finely chopped fresh herbs from my garden (parsley, shallot, dill), smoked salmon and a sprinkling of finely chopped dill on top. How pretty are these?! These were not that hard to make, I put them together earlier in the day and just kept them covered in the fridge until serving - and both the men and women loved them. In this season when everyone is looking at having way too many cukes in their garden, this is a good way to use them up. And a fantastic, light and cool food to eat during hot months. Bon Appetit!
Those look so delicious and pretty too! What else do you have?

You just gave me a great idea.
Cliff is having several people over tomorrow night for a Cedar Sanai get together and I'm Blue Clever (June Clever) as the cook.I have the whole menu planned out, including my fabulous natural margarita's. He's insisted on his favorite crabbed stuffed mushrooms for horsedevours but I'm adding these to the list,as a matter of fact I have everything but salmon. It's time to run to Trader Joe's. I love your recipes. Thanks Renee. You're my inspiration.

great, glad you all liked it. And here's an insider's tip - if you don't have the time to make your own herbed cheese like I did, just buy either the Boursin brand cheese (my fave) or the Philly herbed cream cheeses - a quick shortcut.
Mrs. Fuzz, it's FuzzFood that inspires me : ). Maybe I'll send you a "guest recipe submission." : )

Those were a hit Renee! There were nine left in the refrigerator and I just helped myself to the last of them.
I don't imagine Mrs.Fuzz is going to be to happy when she sees them gone tomorrow morning.lol She'll probably dust and lift finger prints, but I'm not saying anything until I have a lawyer present.
I didn't even know she got them from your blog until she announced "compliments of Renee" lol. I must have looked a bit confused because she added "LAPD wife Renee"
The twins loved them too..until you post another recipe I'll have to settle for Fuzz food.

I'm confused and have know idea why Clifford is referring to me as Mrs Fuzz, unless those two were keeping a secret they just blew.
Yes they were a hit and the ones left from last night were gone this morning, but I have a suspect who will be interviewed later.
I didn't have time to make my own herbed cheese but went with the Philly herbed cream cheese. It was simply divine. I love Salmon and we have cucumbers in our garden....puuuurrrrfect!!! Hugs

Yay! I'm so glad to hear they were a hit. Way to go, Blue Cheese (funny name!). You'll be giving us all a cooking class soon.

Well, you will all be amused to know that thanks to the inspiration of our dear leader Renee, I was standing in the supermarket holding a package of wild-caught salmon in my hand. I was visualizing using the remainder of the "original" Philly cream cheese which was buried somewhere in the refrig drawer, and then, well, I chickened out. Deputy Flamethrower has already perfected the "rolling eyes" maneuver whenever I try a new dish, and I figured I'd better wait till I got some real herbed cheese and decent cucumbers.
After all, you're talking to someone who can not only burn water, but managed last week to mess up the pre-mixed, pre-cut chocolate chunk cookies. But I'm learning!
