Yes, I know, I've already been taking a break over the last month. I've received your emails asking "where the heck are you?" I'm still here, I promise. I started this blog almost 6 years ago. I've put my heart and soul into it - in between having a hectic corporate full-time job, raising two kids, being married to a narcotics officer, leaving my hectic job to start a home business, writing a book and all around being wonder woman. Which is what every other woman out there does too.
I'm not complaining - I'm lucky and I know my life is good. But I've hit a point again where I can't devote the time and effort to this blog that it deserves. But I'm not going to repeat my past mistakes. This blog will stay here where it is - I'm not taking it down. If anyone wants to vent and write guest articles, I would love to post them here. And I fully plan on returning in all my past glory again soon - just not sure how soon.
In the meanwhile, I'll post sporadically, so if you haven't already add me to your rss feed-readers (I use Bloglines and Google Reader) and you'll be able to see right away when I do post. The holidays are coming, which means the annual "Renee's Baking Extravaganza" photos and recipes will be appearing soon. And I'm still going to share tidbits of my life married to my cop. Our anniversary is coming up in a week - 12 years married and still going strong. Jake will also be hitting his 20th anniversary with the LAPD this year - and he's still going strong there, too. Although I do start to hear the old-timer grumbling about how it was a lot harder for him in the Academy, and as a rookie, and so on "back in the day" - oh yes, and did I mention that he walked uphill in the snow to work everyday - both ways!? ha! I do really think it is a different department than it was 20 years ago, but that's what time does, it changes things. We just have to be flexible enough to change with it gracefully.
I'm still here - don't forget to drop me a line now and again - and I'll do the same for you here. Stay safe and watch your six!
Life is too busy. See you on the other side (of being busy.)

Renee.. I'm so confused. I'm either not get enough sleep or missed a whole chunk of blogs you wrote.I usually try yo catch up on the ones I miss. It's probably both since I'm writing this with burning eyes, and just got one of the twins back to bed nursing their sore throat. I thought you were already on a blog vacation and I was waiting for you to pop on more, then I come back here and you say you're going on vacation. lol
Congratulations on the 12 years, and going strong.I can't believe it was just three years in October for Clifford and I,and this February I'll be 14 years with the LAPD. It seems like yesterday I stumbled across your blog.I call those the IHHB days.lol I still think about her and a few others.lol aaaaaw memories...like the corners of my mind, misty watered colored memories of the way we were!
I'm so happy your life is full right now. Don't forget to take a breather HOWEVER I should practice what I preach. I went back and red my "getting bolt ons comment" NOT.These days my glamor is not wearing my hair in a pony tail or bun,and my jewelery these days is Cheerios. lol
I'll drop you a line near Christmas ,and I'll tell Clifford to swing by. I see he hasn't made an appearance in awhile..Hugs to you,Jake and the kids

Okay I really do need some sleep. lol

Well, I see Blue also has caffeinated fingers, masquerading as sleep deprivation! Babe, your Cheerios jewelry is classic miniature doughnuts, as befitting a po-lice ossifer. (LOL!)
Yeah, it seems like time is just flying by, for all of us. Congrats to all the "old-timers" who still are hanging around, in between our life duties.
Renee, those food stories and pictures are going to be appreciated. I made a cauliflower dish the other day and a certain retired deputy said it was "not bad!" From him, that's major appreciation! For me, a confirmed non-cooker, that's like winning an olympic medal. What's next, broccoli?? Who knows?!
