Once again it’s time for the Project Living Hope Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway & Concert. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at San Fernando Recreation Park-208 Park Ave. San Fernando, Ca. 91340
I've written about this fantastic event over the last several years and am proud to know that many of my readers were able to donate toys and time to helping out this great event. Below I am including the text from the officer who is coordinating this event to give you more details. Also, click on the link at the bottom of this article to get a printable flyer for the event. Post it in your station or wherever you think it might get attention.
From Officer Scott:
"First, I’d like to take this opportunity and thank (those who helped out) for partnering with us last year. Because of your generous donations, our event was a major success. We were able to meet our goal of providing toys to over 6,000 underprivileged children and their families (every needy child received a brand new unwrapped toy). In fact, disadvantaged children and their families from all parts of Los Angeles were bussed in and participated in this extraordinary event. The giveaway featured a live concert with celebrities, city officials, a free food court, popcorn and cotton-candy booths, face painting, an interactive game area, public safety displays, and several police vehicles and equipment.
"This year our goal is to duplicating last year’s event (entertainment, food, games, celebrities, etc…), and in the spirit of giving, we hope to reach even more underprivileged children. As always, this event is free to the entire community, but as you know, our needs are great. It’s only with your continued support and charitable donations of money, toys, products, and services are we able to present this one of a kind event.
"Once again, won’t you join us and be part of this exciting tradition by helping us put toys in the hands of children and smiles on their faces this Christmas. Your tax deductible donation will help us provide all the toys and equipment needed to continue giving to the less fortunate."
